counselling & psychotherapy
Counselling and psychotherapy are professional services that help individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others. These therapeutic approaches support clients in addressing life difficulties, emotional challenges, and personal growth, helping them make positive changes in their lives.
Through counselling and psychotherapy, Maxine guides clients through various life transitions, personal struggles, and deeper emotional blocks, drawing from a variety of therapeutic interventions. These practices are suited for individuals, couples, families, and groups, depending on the specific needs and goals of the client.
counselling is A Path to Emotional wellbeing
Counselling is focused on providing practical solutions and enhancing an individual’s ability to cope with immediate life challenges. It’s particularly effective for addressing:
Relationship issues
Bereavement and loss
Anxiety and stress
Life transitions
The counselling process involves working together to resolve crises, reduce emotional distress, and develop clear goals for personal change. It helps individuals develop new inner resources, regain emotional balance, and move forward with more confidence in their lives.
Psychotherapy is A Journey to Self discovery
Psychotherapy works on a deeper level, aiming to facilitate long-term personal change and transformation. It is often helpful when clients notice that their struggles are recurring or seem to repeat in various aspects of their lives. Psychotherapy helps individuals break free from:
Repetitive emotional or behavioral patterns
Unresolved past traumas
Issues that impact relationships, work, or personal fulfillment
Through psychotherapy, clients can gain better self-awareness and understanding, allowing them to change long-standing behaviors that may be disrupting their lives. Maxine takes an integrative approach, combining conscious and unconscious awareness, family systems therapy, and relational states of being to create lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Rewires Negative Thought Patterns
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is effective for treating:
Anxiety and depression
Stress and negative thinking patterns
Self-doubt and low self-esteem
CBT helps clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, replacing them with healthier, more constructive ways of thinking. Through CBT, Maxine guides clients in breaking free from negative cycles and empowering them to create lasting mental and emotional change.
